David Anthony Naylor was
born in Andover, United Kingdom, on June 12, 1965. In 1969, he and his
family moved to the British colony of Rhodesia (today Zimbabwe). When
he was 6, his family moved to Barcelona, Spain, and he developed his interest
in art. For the next 7 years, he both studied and dedicated himself to
drawing and painting, trying to reproduce exhibited artwork pieces. In
1979, he moved to London, where he lived for 4 years, studying and working.
It was at that time when his father, a British printer, gave him his first
airbrush. In spite of his busy schedule, he found time to experiment with
airbrush techniques and completed several works. In 1984, he moved back
to Barcelona and, with the encouragement of his mother, a Catalan dancer,
founded a breakdance group with some friends. This group, the D.C. Rockers,
went on to become the champions of Spain. David looked for a job that
would allow him some time and space to paint. After 15 years as a motorcycle
mechanic, in the end of 2002, he quit his job to dedicate himself exclusively
to art. |
